There are 137 ICEdetentionfacilities, but not every ICEdetentionfacility allows you to post an immigration bond.The Center for Immigration Assistance (CFIA) is the Nation’s most comprehensive resource for immigration/detention and release. Michigan’s two federal courts have logged more than 1,500 petitions, with many coming from North Lake Processing Center, the largest ICEdetentionfacility in the Midwest. Federal judges have largely agreed with immigrants, ordering the government to give them bond hearings. An ICE spokesperson said in an emailed statement any claim there are poor conditions at the Michigandetentioncenter “is false.” The agency said it maintains high-quality care, including medical, mental and dental care for detained people. Michigan already has at least one major immigration detentioncenter, the privately operated North Lake Correctional Facility in Baldwin, with about 1,800 beds.
